Nebraska Amends Residential Mortgage Licensing Act

Nebraska passed a bill amending the Residential Mortgage Licensing Act (RMLA). Under the bill, a mortgage banker, loan originator, and loan processor and underwriter who are independent contractors  must disclose to the borrower, using a net tangible benefit worksheet on the form prescribed by the Department of Banking and Finance (or a substantially similar form), whether or not the borrower will receive a net tangible benefit through such refinance. The bill becomes effective July 17, 2026.
