VA revised topic 1, 23, 32, and 34 of chapter 12 of the Lender’s Handbook (M26-7). Topic 1, relating to detached improvements and SAH RLC jurisdiction, have been removed. Topic 23, relating to non-vented heater, hcas been removed. Topic 32, relating to properties built in 1978 or later, has been condensed. Topic 32, relating to properties built before 1978, has been removed. Topic 34, relating to radon gas, has been removed.
This revisions will become effective for all VA appraisals ordered after May 1st, 2026.
