Fannie Mae Retiring HomeSaver Solutions Network

Fannie Mae issued a Selling Notice (Notice) providing advance notice to servicers that Fannie Mae is retiring the loan workout reporting and related functionality in HomeSaver Solutions Network (HSSN). Per the Notice, HSSN Loss Mitigation workout reporting functionality will transition to Fannie Mae’s Servicing Management Default Underwriter (SMDU) platform. Servicers currently utilizing HSSN are encouraged to fully transition this activity to SMDU Case Management as soon as possible but must do so no later than Nov. 30, 2025. The following functionality will no longer be available or supported:

  • Creating and submitting delegated loan modification cases, including the reporting of Trial Period Plan (TPP) payments, updating and closing delegated loan modification cases;
  • Creating and submitting non-delegated cases for the following workout options:
  • Loan Modification;
  • Mortgage Release (Deed-In-Lieu);
  • Short Sale;
  • Other/Charge Off; and
  • Second Lien Consideration;
  • Updating and closing workout cases that have been transitioned to approved status;
  • Cancellation of Loan Modification Cases;
  • Reporting TPP payments for a loan modification and updating and closing loan modification cases related to entering Trial Period Data Request;
  • Uploading documents to a workout case and querying workout case detail related to Query Manager and Closed Case Query Manager:
  • Viewing previously generated letters for a workout case related to Query Case Letters.

Fannie Mae is retiring the loan workout reporting and related functionality in HSSN effective December 1, 2025.
