Vermont Prohibits Discrimination Based on Citizenship and Immigration Status

Vermont passed a bill prohibiting discrimination based on citizenship and immigration status. Under the bill, a person whose business includes engaging in the making or purchasing of loans or other financial assistance for real estate-related transactions or in the selling, brokering, or appraising of residential real estate property may not discriminate against a person because of citizenship and immigration status. The bill becomes effective July 1, 2025.
