Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae Issue Temporary Guidance on Partial Federal Government Shutdown

Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae issued Bulletin 2026-B (Bulletin) and Lender Letter LL 2026-02 (respectively) issuing temporary guidance related to the partial federal government shutdown. Per the Bulletin and Lender Letter, Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae provided temporary guidance on selling and servicing policies that may be impacted by the federal government shutdown that began February 14, 2026. These temporary policies are effective immediately upon the government shutdown and will automatically expire when the federal government resumes full operations.
