Ohio Enacts and Amends Rules under Residential Mortgage Lending Act

Ohio adopted rules enacting and amending provisions under the Residential Mortgage Lending Act. The adopted rule adds mortgage servicer requirements related to registration, letters of exemption for qualified exempt entities, office requirements and restrictions, standards for applications, certificates of registration, letters of exemption, licenses, recordkeeping, prohibited practices, mortgage servicing definitions, transfers, timely escrow payments and treatment of escrow account balances, error resolution procedures, requests for information, and mortgage servicer obligations upon loss of license. The adopted rules went into effect September 19, 2025.
