Iowa adopted rules amending the Mortgage Bankers and Brokers Act and Secure and Fair Enforcement for Mortgage Licensing Act. The adopted rules rescinded and replaced, with the same titles, Iowa Administrative Code Chapter 18 (governing mortgage bankers, mortgage brokers, and servicers) and Iowa Administrative Code Chapter 19 (governing the licensing of mortgage loan originators in Iowa). The rules were adopted to remove language duplicative of statute, eliminate unnecessary or inconsistent provisions, and update outdated language. The rules become effective October 21, 2026.
